Random Acts of Kindness

So on Northwest Afternoon today they had a couple on that came up with the random act of kindness card game as a way to help them cope with the loss of one of their twins. They had two sets of everything in anticipation of their two little babies but one of them was stillborn. A friend of theirs suggested they donate the extra set to families in need and it made such a difference in their lives they wanted that to continue. I have always loved the concept of random acts of kindness and believe they don't happen nearly as often as they should. So I am challenging myself and any of you out there to start performing R.A.K. as often as you can. I have heard of a time where someone at Starbucks started a chain reaction by buying the persons coffee in the car behind them and this went on for something like 120 customers and then some selfish schlub broke the chain even after his coffee had been taken care of by the person in front of him. It amazes me that many people would keep it going but it's an awesome thing! I've always let people in front of me in the grocery store if they have only one or two items but it will be exciting to try to come up with different acts of kindness. So to all you out there, start those random acts! Lets try to make this world a better place one act at a time!

Fabulous valium again to the rescue.

So once again I made my way to the dentist after undergoing two root canals in the past week. Never in a million years would I have dreamed of going to the dentist as much as I have but with my friend Valium, I seem to have superhuman strength when it comes to going to the dentist now. I can handle ANYTHING! So in a short 2 weeks time, I have undergone 2 root canals and the build-ups for both of those teeth. So now I am fixed! I am FINALLY out of pain after dealing with it for close to 8 long months. All I have to say is thank you to my stepmom, Alice for suggesting it, thanks to my dad for being my chauffeur and thank you to Dr. Guzha for being an awesome dentist!

The Teenage Years

I am now the proud mother of two teenage boys. Sheldon entered the teenage years on April 3rd. He's now the ripe ole age of 13! We were fortunate to have my little sister Robyn here from Illinois to celebrate with us on Thursday. He had me make h is favorite cake, German Chocolate with Pecan frosting. I can't believe how fast time flies. It seems only yesterday he was toddling around speaking his Sheldonese. Now he's a big boy!

Happy Birthday Ashley

Ok so I don't know Ashley but I've made a cake for her and her family to celebrate her 15th birthday. My sister-in-law works for Helping Hand House and they help families who are struggling. Since she knows how much I like to bake, she asked if I would donate my time to bake birthday cakes for the children she works with and I happily agreed. April 7th Ashley will turn 15. It isn't my best work. I think I mixed my frosting too much to get it purple and it had too many air bubbles so it didn't smooth nicely. Hope her family enjoys the cake!

My Sister's BacK!!

I'm SO HAPPY! My little sister came in yesterday morning from Illinois for a visit. She hasn't been here in 4 years! Of course I've gone back to see her but she hasn't been able to get away from her 4, yes 4, children. She's only here for about 5 days but that's ok because she is coming home for good in June! It makes me cry just thinking about her coming back! I have missed her so much. She was my best friend, well she still is but we used to see each other every single day when she still lived here. Today and tomorrow we will be spending the days together so she can get things situated for her move back here. What a glorious two days this shall be!
